Staff
San Joaquin Medical Society consists of three full time staff
members and several project-based professionals as well, all
employed to serve the needs of our physician members, healthcare
community and patients.

Mike Steenburgh, Executive Director
Mike serves as the Executive Director and with direction from
our board, oversees the strategic planning of the society,
provides leadership for many of our community programs, and also
serves as the Executive Director of several subsidiary
corporations of the medical society, including the Bureau of
Economic Services, the San Joaquin Scholarship Loan Fund and our
own political action fund, the League for Good Government.

Debbie Pope, Office Coordinator
Debbie oversees all of the societies business office functions
as our Office Coordinator. Debbie is a familiar face to many of
our members since she has served in this capacity for the past
10 years and our members rely on her attention to detail to keep
their membership information and dues up to date.

Gena Welch, Membership Coordinator
Gena provides our members with professional and personal
assistance in her role as our Membership Coordinator. Gena works
closely with our member’s office managers and support staff,
providing them multiple resources such as our popular monthly
Office Managers Forum, coordinating other topical seminars and
trainings and assisting them with CMA resources and services as
well.

William West, Managing Editor - Publications
William heads up the production of our quarterly publication the
San Joaquin Physician. William personally writes and develops
most of the feature articles for the publication and also
manages the overall production as well in his capacity as the
Managing Editor.
