SJMS sponsors many activities that directly benefit San Joaquin County residents,
including:
Media Relations
SJMS works with media representatives and local physicians to communicate medical information to the public. For example, SJMS recommends physicians for interviews by reporters and arranges for physicians to appear on local television and radio programs. Community Internship Program
This Program offers selected business professionals the opportunity to observe first-hand the daily activities of a physician. For details, contact SJMS' Carmen Walker at 952-5299.
Referral Service
SJMS answers calls from patients and refers them to members according to the specialty and type of insurance they have. To obtain a referral, call 952-5299 and select option “1.”
Scholarship Loan Fund
Established over 30 years ago, the Scholarship Loan fund has helped hundreds of students from San Joaquin , Alpine, Amador, and Calaveras counties obtain financial assistance so that they can continue with their pursuit of obtaining nursing and medical careers.
