Bridge to Medicine

Bridge to Medicine (BTM) is a selective program for high-achieving high school (sophomores and above) and college students who are committed to pursuing a career in medicine. The program is sponsored and administered by the San Joaquin Medical Society, with the purpose of encouraging our local academically talented students to study medicine and return to practice in our area.  The program is powered by volunteer physicians, alliance members and professors and includes one on one mentoring, as well as guidance into research and volunteer opportunities.  Currently, BTM does not offer shadowing. Students must attend or have graduated from high schools in San Joaquin, Alpine, Amador, Calaveras or Tuolumne counties.

To be considered for mentoring, please complete the appropriate application below. Mentors are assigned quarterly, as availability allows, on a first come first served basis. For more information, please call the San Joaquin Medical Society office at 952-5299 or email bridgetomedicine@sjcms.org
